more touring

thursday he 26th, we woke up in baltimore, go on the internet to look for a nice coffee shop in DC, and hit the road. we came upon the coffee shop, though it didn't have all of the muffins and scones we would have hoped for. it was still good, and we ate in the air conditioning, while looking through the local weekly at movie showtimes. nothing we wanted to see was out yet (until tomorrow, friday) or was showing at the right time, so we hopped in the van, drove across town, and dianogah settled for 'the hulk', while stephanie picked 'sex in the city'. actually, since we had to wait to see the hulk, we watched the first 20 minutes of 'kung fu panda', which actually looked great. in the end, stephanie walked out of sex in the city, and the hulk was slightly better than i expected.

back in the van and the heat, we parked in georgetown and looked for food. saw some plainclothes cops tearing apart some dudes' car on the street. we ended up in a crepery, and we ate well.

off to the black cat - we didn't really recognize the neighborhood as it has "improved" so much in the last bunch of years. it's now a bustling bar and restaurant area, where i used to be a pretty dark strip of boarded up buildings. we love he black cat - they feed us and are always nice. dan wilson, formerly of hurl, was one of the first people to show up. always great to see dan.

we played well, i think, and ate dinner in the green room afterwards. reloading the van, we followed dan's truck back to his awesome little bungalow just outside DC. i slept face down in the first floor office, while everyone else stayed upstairs.
