how do i recount a week?

this is why i KEEP this blog in the first place: to be able to recall what i did a few days ago. it's thursday, and i haven't entered anything in a week, which i think might be the longest gap since i started this back in september. i need to get back to doing this daily. the small details get lost.

friday, we finished printing the brigade posters, and found that mr. wayne next door was able to cut them for us, which saved a huge amount of effort on our part. it was great having sue, sara, patrick and jack all working at the same time today and thusday - we got a ton finished.

saturday, di and seth and i went to the shop. my dad was already there. i spent a couple hours writing an email response to a customer who needed a stern talking-to. the three of us discussed business plans extensively as they relate to current excitements. di and i went home around 3, and jason came by around 4 to discuss new plans for the dianogah record, as the budget has shrunk once again. saturday evening, diana and i rode our bikes up the greenbay trail to tower road, winnetka, and turned around. 12 miles round trip.

saturday night we watched the best movie of 2007: no country for old men. after that, we needed a bit of cheering, so we dropped in 'superbad', but got tired after a bit.

sunday morning we rode the same route again, but left the path at tower road to get coffee at panera. from there, we rode west on tower road to the north branch bike path which took us to the botanic gardens, where we ate lunch and strolled the grounds. the return trip took the same route (minus the stop at panera) and the round-trip was 21 miles.

sunday afternoon i went to the skokie library (surprisingly impressive by itself) for the opening of a show by alan magee, an artist from maine. i am still not sure exactly how he works, but he was a charming and worldly fellow. he and his wife, along with my friend bill anthony and his wife, stopped by TBM after the opening. while at the library, i took out arthur c clarke's 2010, and 2061, both of which i read during junior high. clarke's recent death got me thinking about several of his books - i will re-read 3001 next, and then childhood's end. then onto heinlein or p.k.dick.

later sunday, i went out to see glenn kotche and the bang on a can all-stars play at northwestern, with andrew and xan. john stirratt sat next to me, and john mcentire sat a few rows back. the performance was amazing. makes me want to learn to read music. before the show, we had stopped at lulu's in evanston to eat dinner. i had ramen soup.

monday, sara came in to work, though i was running late. she printed 2001s with patrick.

tuesday and wednesday, sara and patrick printed 2001 posters and jeff tweedy posters. i signed and numbered the 2001s to be shipped to texas, and continued my plow through the almost 600 brigade prints. during down time, patrick loaded images onto the new site, and we're almost ready to go live.

this whole week, we've got paul and greg working at the house on window casings and drywall, and chuck the electrician is opening up walls and putting all new wiring into the second floor. this means we're sleeping on the first floor (futon in the den), and all of our stuff is piled up in places where it's not supposed to be. greg removed much of the basement ceiling on wednesday, and the basement bathroom today (thursday). diana has done a great job of keeping "the boys" filled with cookies and pie.
