chad came by around 11, and took me to kaufmann's deli up on dempster, which is pretty much the best food near TBM. amazing old-school place. pickled tomatoes in a vat. bakery. corned beef. hhhrrrrrgh.
i called about the dumpster at 1pm, they said it was on the way.
we took our sandwiches back to TBM and ate, then chad was able to hang out and work for a while. he pulled nails from downed 2x4s, until about 3 or so, when he took off.
i took a sawzall to the copper joints of the raditor supply lines, thus dumping several gallons of black boiler water onto the floor. i shoveled broken drywall and ceiling tiles into the puddles to soak up the wet.
at 4:30 i called again about the dumpster. i was less pleasant.
started removing the radiators. here is the room at this time:

at 5:30 the dumpster arrived. they sent me a 20 yard box, instead of the 15 yard i ordered, but for the 15 price. by 7:30 i had loaded the thing by myself, running frantically back and forth with insulation, broken drywall, ceiling tiles, and shit.
same room, reverse angle, after cleaning:

ran home quickly, itchily. showered, and headed south with di to the metro to see battles. openers were all good, but played too long. caribou was really good, and played way too long, which kind of ruined them for me.
battle were shit-hot. weird dynamics in the band, not sure i can imagine their process. there's always someone who's not playing at any given moment. they were really really good, though, seemingly as excited to see themselves playing as everyone in the audience was.
when they "finished", but before any encores, di and i left. di was really inspired by what she had seen, and was talking about the set like someone who was high. transcendental. i agree.
home, take seth into the yard, bed. 1:30am.
