thursday at tbm, we started sorting the first subscription mailing of 08, while i editioned the last of the mudhoney posters, and tried to finish signing the dianogah tour prints. seth and i cu out around 4 to go home, so i could get ready for the evening.
i rode the old schwinn 'banana bike' over to the el, from home, and took the red line down town. there was brief confusion as to whether i was going to the hard rock cafe (incorrect), or the hard rock hotel (correct).
i arrived at the bar at the hotel, and met up with the rest of the jury for the chicago international poster biennial. alfred halasa was in from montreal, martin venezky, from san francisco. lanny sommese from penn state, and luba lukova from bulgaria via NYC. yann finally arrived with his old mentor, michel bouvet, from paris. i spent some time talking with yossi lemel, from tel aviv, and later met german montalvo and his wife jaqcueline, from puebla, near mexico city. eventually, shigeo fukuda showed up, straight from tokyo, sporting a cubs shirt he had found at the airport.
i spent some time talking to joseph essex, one of the biennial organizers. amazing guy, very friendly.
when it was time to go, i took a cab to evanston with aude, and walked north o the noyes st station to get my bike, i rode home with my shirt open, in the hot night.
