monday in boston, to providence and back

since we only had a 45 minute drive to get to providence for monday night's show, i had planned to spend all day working on patagonia shirts and a tiny showcase illustration. however, with jason's amp in a broken way, we had to go tool around town to try to get it fixed. i won't document every bit of driving here and there, but by day's end we had used more than a quarter tank of gas ($30) and had an amp which only stayed fixed for half an hour of play on tuesday. still, on monday, we got to hang out with dan and sean, and when we finally got to eat our first meal of the day, it was burgers and beer at 2pm. jason's amp was 'fixed' by aerosmith's amp tech, who could not have been more of an entertaining asshole. totally full of himself, he described how jason had bought into a marketing scheme by owning a mesa boogie amp. he described how he was regularly thankful that he could not shrink himself down to fit inside of a vacuum tube, and how he had to bust out a fresh can of turd polish to work on jason's amp. in the end, he literally fixed the amp with a chopstick. the amp broke the next day, after spending $200.

more later. we're off to brooklyn's guitar center to buy a new amp.
