seth and i started the day out at a plumbing supply house in morton grove, where i failed to get any answers about the settling basin i'm supposed to install in the waste line from the new spray-out booth. i wanted to find out what i'm in for, so i could add it to the revised architectural drawings i took to village hall, which was our second stop. now i've re-submitted the plans for the new shop configuration, including the removal of the ceiling from my office area. we'll see how long it is until i can actually start tearing walls down.

seth and i went to the shop to meet up with the sales rep from the fence company. seth took his spot by the front window, and i puttered around, doing lots of little stuff and trying to not get too dirty. re-assembled the impossibly old and heavy wheelbarrow which i painted yesterday, in anticipation of the masonry i'll be doing on the rear wall. the wheelbarrow is great for mixing mortar.

went home, then soon out for a bit of grocery shopping with di. we got some late lunch and ate at the lake. a stop in at turin bike shop to browse, then back home to work.

in january of this year, the short film brigade had a dance competition fundraiser at the hideout, and the winner was to receive a pair of shoes, hand-painted by me. kelly, this poor woman, has been patiently waiting nine months for her shoes, which have been staring at me.

since this is the time where i'm trying to get back into the black as far as people waiting for their projects, these shoes were my afternoon.

di and i set parameters for when we will allow ourselves to have the first fire of the year in the wood stove. i spent the summer splitting and stacking logs, and we're anxious to get the stove going. any day that has a high in the 50's, OR the night of the first frost, OR october 31, whichever happens first.
